Hey beautiful people!
YAY! The sun is FINALLY here! It might still be a tad cold, but I’m STOKED that spring seems to finally be poking its head around the corner at us! To celebrate, my saxophonist friend and I had an impromptu jam lunch time session in Farragut Square today – I’ll post some footage up on my Facebook page for you soon to check out. It was AWESOME fun!
Also tonight, in case you’ve forgotten, I’ll be playing some tunes with the excellent house band at Abyssinia Restaurant on Georgia Ave in Silver Spring. All gig details are here if you’d like to pop along – it’s free entry, and I’ll be there around 7.30pm stuffing my face with yummy Ethiopian food before the show.
I know. I’m ladylike AF.
Also, in case you’re near Arlington, I’m playing at Ireland’s Four Courts on Wednesday night from 9pm – 12.30am. Will be a super fun hump day!
Other news: in case you missed it, I was kidnapped by the manager of Potbelly, Silver Spring last week, and am currently in negotiations with them about playing around the DMV area at different Potbelly’s on a week daily basis! EXCITING!!
Bass is down for the EP too, so we’re just working on percussion before we mix and master this baby, and then you can get your very own Emma G in your pocket EP USB drive (or CD)! SUPER excited!
And finally, my one year anniversary for coming to America (cue Eddie Murphy) is coming up in 11 days! Yes! May 27th I arrived into this wonderful country, and I’d LOVE to celebrate with you all – but I’ve got NO idea when / where. I’m thinking of perhaps a picnic in DC central on Saturday 28th? Would that be of interest to anyone? Or do you have a cooler / better / more hip idea that we can do? Let me know!
Anywho, that’s me for this week – have a beautiful day, and I’ll see you when I see you!
