About Emma G

Hi, I’m Emma G — a keynote speaker, empowerment coach, best-selling author, and award-winning musician on a mission to save the world one song at a time.

The Story Behind the Music:
Born with hydrocephalus, I’ve undergone 10 brain surgeries [24 surgeries in total], and faced challenges that could very well have silenced me. Instead, I turned to music. Songwriting and singing became my lifeline — a way to process trauma, reclaim my voice, and transform pain into power.

That same process now fuels my work with teens, professionals, and organizations across the U.S. and internationally. Whether I’m coaching a teenager through their first original song, speaking on resilience at a corporate conference, or performing onstage, my mission is always the same: to remind people that their voice matters.

The Work:

  • As a two-time TEDx speaker, I’ve inspired audiences to see music as a tool for resilience, leadership, and connection.
  • As a #1 bestselling author, I’ve written Mental Health Sounds Like This to share practical tools for self-expression and well-being.
  • As a coach, I help teens and high-functioning professionals alike reclaim their voices through singing, songwriting, and somatic healing.
  • As a musician, I’ve released award-winning songs tied to social justice, empowerment, and self-love — performing everywhere from Hard Rock Cafés nationwide to the Kennedy Center.
My Guiding Principles

Everything I do — from leading workshops to speaking on global stages — is rooted in a set of values that shape how I teach, create, and connect:

  1. Belonging – Every voice matters. My first goal is always to create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and valued.
  2. Safety – Mistakes aren’t failures — they’re learning moments. I cultivate judgment-free environments where risk-taking is celebrated.
  3. Unity – We grow stronger together. Collaboration, communication, and creativity sit at the heart of my work.
  4. Exchange – Teaching is a two-way street. I learn as much from my students and audiences as they do from me.
  5. Respect & Responsibility – Leave every space better than you found it, and treat everyone as if they’re your best friend.
  6. Student-Centered Growth – I meet people where they’re at, tailoring experiences to honor their culture, background, and unique story.

These principles ensure that whether I’m on stage, in the studio, or in a coaching session, my work is more than performance — it’s transformation.

In the Media & Onstage:
My work has been featured on FOX, CBS, NPR, the Washington Post, Brainz Magazine, and more. I’ve shared stages with international musicians, performed at the National Cherry Blossom Festival, and led a 20-city Youth Empowerment Tour in partnership with Hard Rock Café.
Personal Note:

When I’m not coaching or performing, you’ll find me in Bethesda with my husband (who runs a Krav Maga self-defense school), probably laughing at my own jokes, or writing another song (I’ve written over a thousand). People often ask me why I’m so happy — the answer is simple: I live what I teach: refusing to let the world write my song. I have the pen.

And you can too

If you’re ready to find your voice, reconnect with your power, or bring your audience an unforgettable experience, I’d love to connect.
